Forgive for a minute this largely house keeping post, but I wanted to share with you a few different ways you can consume smarter planet-related content. In the social media context, you’ve had a few ways to keep tabs on Smarter Planet discussions and conversations.
One has been here on this blog as we’ve tried to incorporate long-form content with videos and other salient information. Another has been the wonderful aggregation Jack Mason has been doing on the Smarter Planet Tumblr blog.
As we look forward to the upcoming Smarter Cities event in Berlin, I wanted to create a more systematic aggregation that would bring in not only content from the two sources mentioned above, but also conversations happening in Twitter and other places. So I want to bring to your attention the new Smarter Planet Friendfeed group, where we have started aggregating content from this blog, the Tumblr blog, the @SmarterPlanet Twitter ID (more on that later) and related Twitter conversations (anything everything with the #smarterplanet, #smartercity, #smartcity hashtages). In reality, this Friendfeed group has existed since last October, but we are just now aggregating these many streams in full.
So, for those of you who want to keep abreast of all the smarter planet and smarter cities conversations, I highly recommend visiting the Smarter Planet Friendfeed room. And, of course, you can subscribe to the entire feed via RSS.
We’ll be tweaking this as we go along, and will soon be doing more interesting things to syndicate out the feeds, as well as bring in some more interesting visualization and engagement tools too. In the meantime, feel free to stick around here on the blog, or check out the FriendFeed room.
And again, stay tuned for more about the @SmarterPlanet Twitter ID later this week.
