Stormpulse, which rose to prominence in 2008 during the landfall of Hurricane Ike in Houston, Texas, provides smarter, comprehensible, on-demand weather intelligence for better decision making regarding the impact of weather on personnel, assets, and supply chains for customers in a broad range of industries, including energy and utilities, transportation, defense, healthcare, and manufacturing. In 2010, over 4 million unique visitors and 10,000 businesses came to Stormpulse for insight into weather threats. Among these was Oceaneering, which used Stormpulse to track weather conditions during their efforts to cap the Deepwater Horizon. Other clients includes the Department of Homeland Security, FedEx, Humana, Farmer’s Insurance, and Austin’s very own Temple-Inland (NYSE: TIN).
