Startups should apply now for SmartCamp Startup Competitions near them
The global trek of IBM’s premier startup competition, IBM SmartCamp kicked off last week with its first competition in Bangalore. With a record number of applications, the selection of the final five and the winner was a tough one for the Venture Capitalists and others on the judging panel.
In the end, ConnectM won. ConnectM specializes in machine-to-machine business intelligence technology for the telecom, utilities and transportation industries.
But with a very deep Final 5, they were not a sure bet. The other four finalist were:
- Adiro : Enterprise mobility including automatic identification and data collection.
- Indrion: Embedded sensor and actuator network technology.
- Infobotique: Compliance and risk management for the oil and gas industry.
- Quantama: A mobile information service that enables consumers to find places of interest, promotions and events nearby.
Austin up next, streaming live and giving you a chance to vote
Next up on the global competition schedule is Austin, Texas on May 17-18 where finalists are being selected now from the large pool of initial applicants. The final round will be streamed live so you can watch it and you will be able to vote on which finalist will the SmartCamp People’s Choice Award.
Get your applications in now for New York City
If you’re an entrepreneur or startup and want to get into the competition, applications are now being accepted for the New York City leg. It is advised that you apply now as the available slots fill up quickly. Check out my previous post on 5 tips for getting into the competition to help you structure your application.
