The last few months have opened quite a few new doors for the i2 team. IBM’s acquisition of us opens a new world of possibilities for our customers. Not only can we further help law enforcement and first responders make the best use of current technologies and resources, but we now are closely aligned with some of the best technical minds in the world who can assist us in making our products stronger and more resilient for those committed to the public safety of citizens.

All that said, we have not lost focus on what has gotten us here. To that end, today we announced new mobile software that will help law enforcement officers access critical intelligence faster to solve cases. In short, we’re playing an important role in helping law enforcement agencies get smarter about public safety.

We are extending our Web-based COPLINK, the most widely used tactical lead generation tool for law enforcement in the United States, to iPads, iPhones and Android devices with our announcement of COPLINK Mobile Plus.

An important evolution for COPLINK, the new capability makes use of the large investments law enforcement and public safety agencies continue to make in mobile technologies that can be deployed in the field, including widespread adoption of mobile devices. And COPLINK Mobile Plus will help enable law enforcement officers to achieve better situational awareness with automated geospatial searches of recent events because they will now have the ability to search state and local criminal records from multiple jurisdictions’ databases from their devices.

The team will have demos available for our existing COPLINK customers, so they can test drive the application demonstrations at this week’s International Association of Chiefs of Police conference (Booth #901).
