Kevin winterfield is a member of the Digital Strategy and Development team at IBM's corporate headquarters in Armonk, NY where he is responsible for designing, developing and implementing digital media and social influencing models in support of IBM's business goals. His latest social media project, People for a Smarter Planet, is a social media activation model that allows a growing global constituency to experience what Smarter Planet really means. Prior to joining the corporate team, Kevin worked as the social media lead in IBM Research, where he developed one of the first successful social eco-systems at IBM. And before that, he was in charge of community development for IBM's 40,000+ software developers located in labs around the world. His long career at IBM spans the disciplines of software development, finance, marketing and communications. He is also an avid cyclist, which led him to co-found the popular Low-Key Hillclimb Series in the San Franciso Bay Area which raises money for Cancer research. And, he dabbles in film production, having produced nine independent films through his Nine@Night digital production company. And, he also tries to act. As of today, unsuccessfully, but that hasn't stopped him.
