This is super exciting.
“IBM Smarter City Challenge”, launched in 2011, 100-city US$50 million program, IBM’s single-largest philanthropic initiative, funds in-person engagements staffed by teams of top IBM experts, who study and then make detailed recommendations addressing locally important urban issues.
Pune is like any other growing metro city. Pune is a multi facet city. It is known as Harvard Of East for the academic institutes and activities it host. It is one of the core IT hubs of India. People of Pune nourish and celebrate the rich culture they inherit. However Pune has its own share of problems as well. The less we speak of them in this forum the better.
Now that Pune has been selected in the IBM Smarter City Challenge – I hope we see some positive change at least in 1 area that matters to people of Pune.
The day that happens, I will not remain IBMer but become a Proud IBMer
Recently, I have conducted a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (IBM Cognos) training in DC School of Management and Technology – Kerala, India. DCSMAT Business School is an AICTE approved institution with international standards in education. The PGDM course offered here has the same value as an MBA course in India and is recognized in abroad as well.
Specility of this B-School is that they believe in paperless campus concept, where all the study materials are shared over intranet and all the tests are conducted online too, thereby they are trying to do their bit for the environment. The college is situated very close to Vagamon, which is one of the popular tourist destinations in Kerala.
The training was conducted under IBM Career Education program. Through Career Education, IBM is empowering university graduates and working IT professionals in India/South Asia with knowledge and skills to serve the largest enterprise business software suite in the world. The IBM Career Education Program is a comprehensive software education program designed by IT professionals, for graduates and experienced professionals to accelerate their skills and knowledge so that they succeed in this dynamic industry.
The training included hands-on workshops on IBM Cognos BI and Data Warehousing basics. We also included multiple IBM Cognos case studies and videos so that the students can understand the business angle for implementation of IBM Cognos along with Data Warehousing.
