What´s up friends of IBM!!..

Well today we have a free day of school, because in México we celebrate the “Flag Day”

but in our university was the “Autonomy Day”…

Whatever, we spend the whole day buying some material for the project like the RFID programmer for the “Tags”

I hope to share the pictures of the material the next time, because the rest will be sent in a few days…

We are on time to finish!!

I hope.. :S xD

Hi! Partners.

First. Sorry for the late but I don`t have the money yet, we have many problems with the internal process :(

But I was working in all the schedule for the project taking careful with many details on the system

I have ready the server for the protocol transfer but these are technical details “sic”.

The next time I upload a video to show more about the project, because I tell with my family and friends about this and they say “What?”

Sure is not easy on the first look but taking 5 minutes to explain they think that is a great idea with a lot of possibilities.

Now we refer to the project how “M.R.S” because sounds like secret project or a mission xD.

I hope record a videoblog to explain more about this and the schedule to work… maybe tomorrow :)

End transmission – / -/ -/

Last year the IBM Students for a Smarter Planet initiative in Mexico released The IBM Cyber Security Challenge (http://mexico.smarterplanetchallenge.com)  in which we had 18 different project submissions from more than 10 different Universities across the Country and more than 200 registered students.

The mexican universities were invited by IBM to make the world a smarter planet focused on Cybersecurity. We had a great nationwide media coverage, allowing us to have registered students from most of the nation geographies in the challenge.

We have the pleasure to congratulate again the winners of the challenge: ITESM Campus Toluca (Goattee), Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro (Cloud Medical Records) and ITESM Campus Ciudad de Mexico (Skoop)!

We’ll look forward to read more details about your, projects their progress and experiences in our blog.

Way to go!

More about the winning projects:

Goatee at Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Toluca
The project, called “Goatee” is an authentication system that provides security to a client when they are making transactions, restricting to the client only the ability to make transactions. This is intended to avoid credit card theft and fraud. It works by a digital finger print reader, which is used as a key to have access to the debit or credit card. Banks benefit by decreasing losses due to fraud and card theft, while providing a real security system to the client.
Cloud Medical Records at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro
Students proposed to create a Data Recorder system with cloud storage using RFID sensor technology. The system is intended to centralize all one’s medical records in one place for security and access regardless of time and place, allowing for search of your information and fast access to your personal information. It is desired to connect your home measurement devices to have medical tracing day by day as well.
Skop at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Ciudad de México
The Project Skop is an application for mobile devices that will provide the users information about their surroundings, especially about their friends, their relatives and different objects and places. The user will be able to access this information in a intuitive and quick way, by the use of augmented reality through their mobile and using an innovative “flare” system that can be added and removed at any time.
